First Year Crits
It was great to see so much exciting work at the first year crits! The library extension project has been taken in so many different ways, and it was fascinating to see the different emphasis that each student has put on their personalised briefs. Well done everyone!

Student of the Week
Our student of the week is Mae Ghali, whose project focuses on photography and identity. She says:
'Based in an area of mixed architectural backgrounds and with the rise in number of immigrants seeking refuge in Athens, this project intervenes to re-align the identity of Athens. Acknowledging and celebrating the cultural diversity in the Greek capital, 'The Identity Alignment' builds upon a passion to utilise photography as a form of activism.
'In 3 months, 6 local citizens will meet, converse and photograph people within the surrounding communities, developing their images in a darkroom. Guiding them along the way, I will live in my own pod. As more pictures get developed they are exposed to the public in cubs that adapt to support various seated positions which encourage conversations in reflection on the mixture of identities that form the Greek population. Once the project draws to a close, the darkroom is converted to the climax of the exhibition and eventually the building is dismantled, leaving the exhibition cubs as a permanent place for future exhibitions and assembly.'
